duck Hunting in Saskatchewan
Saskatchewan is the fly way for many different duck species. Most of which travel through our area. Our main game target is obviously the puddle ducks on dry field hunts which primarily are mallard and pintail but also include wigeon, blue and green winged teal, gadwall, shoveler, and we even know where to go to try for wood ducks. We are in a very good location for duck hunting and have had great success with limit hunts starting September 1st right through until November.
As the season progresses the heads turn greener and the colours show up more obviously. By the end of October we are predominately shooting large greenheads in full plumage. Sometimes even in the snow! We usually hunt in dry fields over decoys and like to get the birds in tight with their feet down. However we do hunt near or over some day ponds as well where our species list expands greatly with the healthy variety of ducks that migrate through our area. We stay away from roosts to make sure the waterfowl have a safe refuge and don’t get over pressured. If you love hunting ducks, you will love No Fly Zone.
